Agricultural based Startup Crofarm raised Rs. 5 crores

India’s Agricultural based Start-up Crofarm which connects the farmers has raised Rs. 5 crores in the A series crowd funding. The big investors who participated in the crowd funding are from angel investors Rajan Anandan, Google India MD, and Jitendra Gupta, PayU India MD, and US-based Factor[e] ventures, among others, through the LetsVenture platform. The Startup deals in agricultural products by bringing retailers and farmers at one platform. Crofarm operates from the Delhi NCR sector and helped farmers from UP -Haryana.

Softbank to invest $1 billion dollars in online sports goods retailer Fanatic’s

SoftBank is nearing a deal to invest $1 billion into Fanatics, an online retailer of licensed sports apparel that counts Major League Baseball and the National Football League as both investors and commercial partners. The deal is expected to value Fanatics at around $4.5 billion and increase the company’s total funding to around $1.8 billion. This deal might bring down the business for the Amazon as the sale of sports merchandises will get affected from it.

Directi’s Bhavin Turakhia will be now part of Unacademy board

Online startup education technology platform Unacademy has joined hands with the Directi co-founder and CEO Bhavin Turakhia and appointed him to its board of directors. Turakhia runs four businesses under the Directi Group: Flock, an enterprise messaging software; Ringo, a telephony service; Zeta, which offers corporate meal vouchers; and Radix, a domain registry business. He also co-founded contextual advertising company along with brother Divyank.

Digital Milkman Startup raised undisclosed funding

Bengaluru-based digital milkman startup Doodhwala has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in its pre-series A round. The investor who is part of this ambitious project is Tom Varkey, a partner at Stonehill Capital, USA. The company founded in 2015, growing steadily by delivering 1,00,000 deliveries monthly. The company will soon hold the round two of funding and the money raised from it, will be invested in better technology, capturing market and promotions.

WABCO Holdings to acquire AssetTrackr

Belgium located WABCO Holding to buy the AssetTrackr under their global fleet management fleet business. The company has signed a pact to purchase 100 per cent shares of Bengaluru-based AssetTrackr, WABCO said in a statement. The transaction is now subject to customary conditions and expected to close by the fourth quarter of 2017, it added. The company, however, did not disclose financial details.

EM3 Agri tech Startup raised $10 million

EM3 Agri Services, which offers farm services and machinery on rent, has raised $10 million from London-based non-profit Global Innovation Fund. The series B investment will power its expansion in Rajasthan. EM3 Agri operates under the brand name Samadhan in Madhya Pradesh and parts of Gujarat. The company offers farm equipment such as ground-levelling machines, deep-ploughing equipment and power harrows for making seed beds to farmers on rent.
